Government auditors give two thumbs up for MISys Manufacturing material management

Woodstock, VT – 05/19/2015  CACI - Ticom Geomatics manufactures geolocation and ISR systems and services. The company began as a software provider in (1998) and evolved into a manufacturer in order to meet the demands of their government customers. They are a Department of Defense provider and face regular audits by government agencies, which have specific requirements for the manufacturing processes used to construct their systems.

According to Gordie Brandt, the production systems quality manager for CACI – Ticom Geomatics, “all components are purchased directly for a particular job and must be segregated in a specific way so that if an auditor comes in, they can see their bag of parts in a separate place. If we’re not able to prove that the components of each project are clearly separated from the others, the government auditing agencies will recommend we no longer be used as a vendor.”

MISys enables CACI - Ticom Geomatics to track each component from its original vendor, through the receiving and production processes. “When government auditors come in to inspect our processes, they are impressed by how well the system helps us conform to specific requirements (whether it’s ISO, FAR or AS-9000).” says Gordie. “One aerospace customer gave us a two-thumbs-up review based on a first article inspection of their product and our processes utilizing MISys for job procurement, material management and quality control.”
